The Northampton Scout Amateur Radio Group provides Radio Scouting
and associated technology based activities for Scouts in the Northampton area.

The next Radio Group meeting will be held on
57th Jamboree on the Air Weekend
Saturday 18th October and Sunday 19th October 2014

We will be running this years Jota station from the Spotley Wood Scout Campsite, Located between Northampton and Bedford


 

Guides Thinking Day the Air

We will be operating our station at Overstone to join in with Thinking Day On The Air again in 2013. TDOTA is held each year on the weekend nearest to 22nd February, the Founder's birthday.

57th Jamboree on the Air -
a weekend of Radio Scouting fun!

 
18th - 19th October 2014 - All kinds of Radio Scouting activities will be available  for Scouts to take part in at Jamboree on the Air this year. Visitors will be able to send  greetings messages to Scouts on the other side of the world. This is a great opportunity to complete the IT staged badges and find out how to get your own amateur radio licence?

Beavers having fun at Jamboree on the Air

The annual Jamboree on the Air gives all sections of our Movement the opportunity to contact Scouts all over the world. Beaver Scouts visited our station last year and had such a good time that they are visiting us again soon.
                                  

SJ22S at the 22nd World Scout Jamboree

Between 27th July and 7th August 2011, the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Rinkaby in Sweden was on the air   with their own, fully equipped amateur radio station using the callsign SJ22S The station offered an exciting Radio Scouting programme to the Jamboree participants. More>>>

 

Radio Scouting and the Scout Training Programme
 
The Scout training programme provides opportunities for Radio Scouting and associated technology based activities in all sections. Requirements for some of the Challenge Awards and the International Friendship Award can be completed and Activity Badges are also available.

 

 Information Technology  Staged Activity Badges

The Information Technology staged activity badges offer a young person the opportunity of gaining an award appropriate to their individual level of knowledge. Staged badges are available to all sections from Beavers through to Scout Network.

Marconi Explorer Scout Unit - Specialising in Radio Scouting

The Marconi Explorer Scout Unit was founded on 19th October 2002 during Northampton Scout Amateur Radio Group's 21st birthday celebrations. The first Explorer Scouts were invested early in 2003.                                          More>>>
