58th Jamboree on the Air -
a weekend of Radio Scouting fun!

16th - 18th October 2015
- We had an exciting programme of Radio Scouting activities planned for Scouts at Jamboree on the Air and Jamboree on the Internet this year. This included the chance to speak to other Scouts around the world via amateur radio or chat via the internet. Beavers, Cubs and Scouts were able to work on their Communicator activity badge and find out how to get more involved in the exciting world of Radio Scouting. Why not come along and get invloved next year.

JOTA & Radio Scouting

Jamboree on the Air is the highlight of the Radio Scouting calendar, when Scouts have the opportunity to share experiences and exchange ideas with some of the 500,000 Scouts taking part. This is truly the biggest Scout Jamboree in the world!

The Northampton Scout Amateur Radio Group has taken part in JOTA every year since 1981. We will be running our Jota station again for 59th Jamboree on the Air in 2016. Further details about the location will be published soon.

8N23WSJ at the 23rd World Scout Jamboree

Between 29th July and 7th August 2015, the 23rd World Scout Jamboree at Yamaguchi in Japan was on the air with their own, fully equipped amateur radio station using the callsign 8N23WSJ. The station offered an exciting Radio Scouting programme to the Jamboree participants.

New Look Website for
Radio Scouting in the UK

Radio Scouting is the unique combination of amateur radio with the Scouting programme. This website is a resource centre for Radio Scouting groups based in the UK.

.....and updates for our own website coming soon.

We have started to update our website too. The Scout Training Programme is changing and we need to include new Radio Scouting opportunities, new badges and a new design. Please revisit our pages to see how we are getting on.
